Agency Standards for Safeguarding Customer Information
In the course of our business as an insurance broker, Preferred Aviation Underwriters (PAU) believes in protecting the confidentiality and security of any Nonpublic Personal Information that we collect about our customers. Nonpublic Personal Information generally means information that is provided to us by our customers or is obtained by us in the course of the placement of insurance coverages on our customer’s behalf; it does not include information available to the general public.
Nonpublic Information That PAU Collects
PAU collects information for business purposes with respect to its insurance placement services for customers and other relevant business relationships. These purposes include application for insurance coverages on your behalf and processing transactions in the course of doing business with you. Furthermore, insurance companies to which you have applied for insurance coverages may collect additional information about you; and which PAU may not have access or rights to. Those insurance companies would also be subject to laws regarding the security of your Nonpublic Personal Information; PAU may be able to obtain their respective privacy statements for you if you request us to do so.
Nonpublic Information That PAU Discloses
PAU may disclose any Nonpublic Personal Information it believes is necessary for the conduct of its insurance brokerage business, where required by law, or where you have authorized us to do so. Nonpublic Personal Information may also be disclosed for audit, or to law enforcement or regulatory agencies to help prevent fraud, or otherwise where permitted by law.
How PAU Protects Nonpublic Personal Information
PAU treats Nonpublic Personal Information in a confidential manner. Our employees are required to protect the confidentiality of Nonpublic Personal Information about you and they are to comply with all of our established agency procedures. Employees may access Nonpublic Personal Information only when necessary to do so in the course of administering our products and services. Employees and other specific service providers are required to sign confidentiality and non-disclosure agreements regarding access and use of customer Nonpublic Personal Information. PAU also maintains physical, electronic and procedural safeguards to protect Nonpublic Personal Information; these safeguards comply with all applicable laws.
